The Directorate of Welfare of Plain Tribes & Backward Classes (DWPTBC) in Assam offers financial assistance to ST(Plain) students who qualify for appearing in the UPSC or APSC Mains exam.
In this regard, applications are invited from intending candidates for Financial Assistance to ST(P) students for appearing in mains examination of APSC or UPSC for the year 2024-2025.
The scheme offers a one-time grant to ST Plain students who are preparing for the UPSC or APSC mains exam. This grant can be utilized for expenses such as study materials, coaching, loading, and other exam-related needs.
Eligible candidates will have to apply in the prescribed format uploaded in the official website directorwptbc.assam.gov.in along with all the relevant documents to the office of the Directorate of Welfare of Plain Tribes & Backward Classes, Assam, Rukmini Nagar, Dispur Last Gate, Satrinivash Path, Ghy-6 within 30th September 2024.

Who are eligible for the ST scholarship for UPSC/APSC Mains Exam?
To be eligible for the ST scholarship for UPSC or APSC mains exam, the students must meet the following criteria:
- He / She must belong to ST (Plain) community of Assam.
- 2(a). He / She must have passed the UPSC preliminary exam held on 16/06/2024.
OR - 2(b). He / She must have passed the APSC preliminary exam held on 18/03/2024.
- Applicants who have availed the benefit in previous years will not be eligible.
NOTE: There is no income limit for availing this benefit.
