Assam EMRS Admission Notification
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Govt of India, has recently announced the opening of 5 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Assam for the 2025-26 academic session. These schools are dedicated to provide quality education for Tribal Students and other underprivileged children.
The newly sanctioned EMRS located at Kharadhara (Dist. Bajali), Jalah (Dist. Baksa), Jonai (Dist. Dhemaji), Howraghat (Dist. Karbi Anglong) and Ardaopur (Dist. Dima Hasao). The total numbers of students to be selected shall be 60 per school in Class- VI with selection based on an entrance examination scheduled for 30 March 2025.

EMRS Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for EMRS Class 6 Admission 2025-26, candidates must meet the following criteria:-
- The Age Limit for Admission to Class VI will be minimum age is 10 years as on 31 March 2025 and Maximum Age is 13 years as on 31 March 2025. Child born on 1st April should also be considered.
- The Family Annual Income of the applicant will not be more than 5 lakhs.
- The candidates must be Permanent Resident of Assam.
- Candidate should have qualified Class VI from a Govt./Govt. aided/Govt. recognized School/CBSE Affiliated School/Level B of NIOS OBE Program Or a Candidate who has not attended any school but studied at home is also eligible to apply for admission in Class VI (As per section 4 of Chapter II of RTE Act, 2009). However, the parents/guardian of the candidate shall have to submit a self-declaration regarding the same.
