The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has official released the UPSC CDS 2 Notification 2024 on its website on 15/05/2024.The candidates can apply for CDS 2 exam till 04/06/2024.

As per the official notification of the CDS (II) exam 2024, there are total 459 vacancies. UPSC will conduct the second CDS examination on 01/09/2024.The candidates will be selected based on their performances in written test and an interview conducted by the SSB.

After the exam, the selected candidates would join the respective defense academy (IMA, INA,OTA, AFA) as commissioned officers.

What is CDS Exam?

The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS Exam) is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA). 

Only unmarried graduates are eligible to apply for the UPSC CDS exam 2024. The Combined Defence Services Examination is conducted twice a year (in April and September respectively). Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

How to Fill CDS Application Form 2024?

1. Visit the UPSC official website- https://upsc.gov.in/
2. New users need to complete the OTR Process (One Time Registration).
3. The registered users can directly fill CDS 2 application form 2024.
4. Registration comprises two parts – Part I & Part II
5. Part-I include candidate’s registration, choosing the preferred branch, verifying details, and generation of registration ID.
6. In Part-II, candidates need to pay the application fees, select the exam centre, upload the necessary documents.
7. After filling both parts successfully, candidates can submit the CDS 2 application form 2024.
8. Take the printout of CDS application form and fee transaction receipt for future reference.
